Hi,
Our 15 year old son was diagnosed with glioblastoma grade 4. he had surgery and is currently undergoing radiation. since my father died at age 52 of esophageal cancer, my brother age 55 is currently fighting stage 4 colorectal cancer that metastasized to the lung, my 18 year old niece had phyllodes tumor recently and i had breast cancer twice – first at age 37- a geneticist tested my son for li Fraumeni. He does have the p53 mutation and looks like a new variant. We haven’t received results for the rest of us.
Our main concern now is how to treat our son’s glioma as there is no other option than radiation with temador to try and arrest the growth but now we are afraid of the effects of the radiation on all the cells. Has anyone out there have experience with this? What did you do? Feel helpless in this catch 22 scenario.
Appreciate any help,
