Because of the grant provided by the LFS Association at the end of 2014 to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for LFS research, LFSA board members were invited to their Appreciation Night and an evening of baseball at Fenway Park with other President Circle level donors this past Tuesday, April 14th. The evening kicked off in Fenway’s Champion Club with remarks by pediatric oncologist Dr. Stephen Sallan, Chief of Staff Emeritus at Dana-Farber, and Red Sox broadcaster Joe Castiglione. Dr. Sallan provided very encouraging words regarding the direction of cancer treatment and the impact that both precision medicine and immunotherapy will have on cancer care, while Mr. Castiglione provided some entertaining anecdotes on the Red Sox players.
