Noelle’s Fight Club 2019
- at 12:00 am - 11:59 pm
Noelle’s LFS Fight Club is taking a hike for its fifth annual fundraiser to benefit the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association. Noelle Johnson and her team are climbing to the top of Horsetooth Mountain, the most iconic rock in Fort Collins, CO. The six-mile hike features a 1,600-ft. elevation gain and a challenging scramble to the summit.
We’re hiking for the Johnson family and others like them with Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), a rare inherited genetic cancer disorder that greatly increases the risk of developing cancer during a lifetime.
Noelle survived her first sarcoma cancer at the age of 21. At the time, her treatment included surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Through genetic testing years later in 2013, Noelle uncovered the mutation of her TP53 gene, which is LFS. She’s since had a dozen surgeries, including a double mastectomy and full hysterectomy, and undergoes full-body scans and blood work in her fight to remain cancer free.
We’re hiking specifically to raise awareness about LFS, support genetic cancer research and encourage genetic testing for the TP53 gene mutation.
Please join Noelle’s friends and family to continue the fight against LFS with a donation. All donations go directly to the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association, which supports LFS research and provides support services for individuals and families with Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
