LFSA’s 2025 Climb for a Cure: Creating a Legacy of Hope

This summer, supporters around the world laced up their shoes and took to the trails for the Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association’s annual Climb for a Cure. With three teams and more than 30 participants, the 2025 event raised over $25,000 in support of the LFSA Youth Workshop, held in August at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Each year, Climb for a Cure unites the LFS community to hike, walk, run, and ride in honor of those living with Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), raising awareness, fostering hope, and funding the future.

Leading the way this year was Erica Kirschner and her team, who climbed the 199 steps of the Cape May Lighthouse in July. Erica’s team raised more than $10,000, including securing additional sponsorships to benefit the Youth Workshop. Debora Weiss and the Weiss family marked their third year of participation with a 1.5-mile walk through Valley Forge National Historic Park. First-time team Hope Hunters for Cody made an extraordinary impact, raising over $5,000 in memory of Cody Lesko, whose enduring spirit of kindness, family, and courage continues to inspire.

Proceeds from this year’s Climb directly supported the 2025 LFSA Youth Workshop, a one-of-a-kind program designed to empower young people living with LFS through education, connection, and peer support.

The LFSA extends heartfelt thanks to all who climbed, donated, and supported the cause. Together, we are creating a legacy of hope for generations to come.
