Feeling anxious before a cancer scan? You’re not alone.

Join the LFS Association for an important conversation on scanxiety in the LFS community, presented by Rowan Forbes-Shepherd, Ph.D., National Cancer Institute.

Many people with rare inherited cancer conditions like Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) experience what’s known as scanxiety—the stress or worry that comes before, during, or after cancer screening. LFS brings a lifelong risk of multiple cancers, so regular, whole-body scans are a critical part of staying healthy. But the emotional toll is real—and not well understood.

Our study at the NCI takes a closer look at scanxiety in the LFS community: how common it is, how it affects people, and what factors may make it better or worse. Join us to learn more and share your experience.
