The Li-Fraumeni Syndrome Association (LFSA) is proud to announce that Co-Founder and Board Member Debbie Soprano has been recognized with the 2025 Employee Community Volunteer Award from Boston Children’s Hospital. The award honors Debbie’s outstanding commitment to volunteerism through her work with LFSA, where she currently serves as Marketing and Development Chair.

Soprano, who is also the Administrative Manager for the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s (PPOC), was one of a select group of employees recognized for making a meaningful impact in the community. As part of the honor, Boston Children’s Hospital has made a $5,000 donation to the LFSA in support of its mission.

LFSA provides critical support, advocacy, and resources for individuals and families affected by Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), a rare hereditary cancer predisposition syndrome caused by pathogenic TP53 germline variants. People with LFS face an increased risk of developing a wide range of cancers—often at young ages—including soft-tissue and bone sarcomas, breast cancer, brain tumors, adrenocortical carcinoma, and leukemia.

“We are thrilled to see Debbie recognized for her tireless dedication to the LFS community,” said LFSA President Jenn Perry. “Her passion, leadership, and advocacy continue to drive our mission forward, and we are incredibly grateful to Boston Children’s Hospital for this meaningful support.”

Congratulations, Debbie – your LFSA family celebrates this well-deserved honor.
