A milestone gathering brought together 46 members of the Li‑Fraumeni syndrome community in China to share knowledge, experiences, and hope.

On October 25, 2026, the Li‑Fraumeni Syndrome Association (LFSA) China Chapter held its first family meeting in Shanghai, marking an important milestone in connecting individuals and families affected by Li‑Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) in China.

The meeting welcomed 46 attendees from across northern and southern China, bringing together members of the LFS community for a day of education, shared experiences, and connection. The event was held in person, with an online option that allowed participants to join remotely.

The program featured presentations from medical experts and members of the LFS community on topics including multi‑cancer screening strategies, whole‑body MRI surveillance, hereditary cancer genetic testing, advances in LFS treatment research, reproductive options for individuals with TP53 mutations, and insurance considerations for families affected by LFS. Participants also heard firsthand accounts of cancer screening and care, reinforcing the importance of sharing knowledge and learning from one another.

LFSA President and CEO Jenn Perry joined the meeting as a guest speaker, introducing LFSA and sharing her own story and perspective on the importance of hope. She was especially moved by the heartfelt questions and conversations that followed, which reflected the community’s desire to connect with others who understand the challenges of living with LFS and to hear stories that offer encouragement and possibility.

The meeting was organized by the LFSA China Chapter, led by Rohm Xu, YiQing Lu, and Yiming Wang. Their efforts helped bring together speakers, patients, families, and experts for this meaningful first gathering.

Building a Stronger Global LFS Community

The first China family meeting represents an important step toward building connections and support for individuals and families affected by LFS around the world. By creating opportunities to share experiences, learn from experts, and connect with others who understand the LFS journey, the LFSA China Chapter is helping strengthen a global community united by a shared commitment to advancing research, expanding awareness, and enhancing education.

LFSA congratulates the China Chapter on this important milestone and looks forward to seeing its community continue to grow.
